Walking the Neckarsteig

Travel doesn't necessarily means that one has to go far away. Sometimes you just have to step out of your door and start walking. That is what I did in autumn of 2015, walking the Neckarsteig trail on three days. It was an escape, a spontaneous descision with little planning, running away from someone. But it quickly became travel. Walking just to walk.

Walking the NeckarsteigAt the train station - with about 43km of walking in one day, I broke my personal record.

Walking the NeckarsteigGetting up early was rewarded by an amazingly beautiful sunrise. But it also was the only moment of the entire day that the sun came through.

Walking the NeckarsteigCracked my goal just at the station. Though the resolution is so bad, that I probably walked more like 52 kilometers that day.

Walking the NeckarsteigOnce it was dark, the little white markers weren't of much help and I had to fall back to the GPS track for directions.
Walking the NeckarsteigA break, quite exhausted, after about 38km. After that, everything was much easier, I think I might have experienced what runners call the runner's high, just while hiking.
